F.A.Q.

Q. Do I have to resize my images?

A. YES, images are required to be resized.  Check here for the easy three step procedure to accomplish this.

Q. I am a first time entrant what Class ( A or B ) should I enter?

A. You may enter either class based on you own assessment of your photographic skills. The object is to compete against others of similar skill level.

Q. Is there a preferred color space for submitted images?

A. Yes images submitted for competition will generally look better in the sRGB color space

Q. How is judging conducted?

A: A select panel of three judges will vote either "in" or "out" on all color and monochrome images first in the "A" class, and then in the "B" class (separately). This part of the judging will identify the top 25% in each class. Once that is completed the images will be judged again in a similar manner. The top 10% will be considered Award images, and the next 15% will be considered Honors.

Q. What is the e mail address to which I should send images?

A. As a member of an FCCC club you should e mail your entries to your club rep. The address will of course be different for each club. Your club rep will forward the entries to the TriAnnual Competition.

Q. If I submit a monochrome photo that I've tinted with sepia or a color tone, will it still be considered a monochrome photo?

A. No. Any sepia or color tone incorporated into a monochrome photo will automatically qualify it as a color photo. The proof is in the image's histogram which will indicate color.

Q. Can I enter the same photo again in the next competition if I didn't win any ribbons?

A. Yes. Only photos that have won a ribbon in a previous FCCC Digital Division Tri-Annual competition are no longer eligible for entry. Any winning images, however, are automatically placed in the Year End competition.
